My New Outlook on Twitter

I have many social media accounts but Twitter, however, was not one. I wasn't interested in using Twitter because I thought it was mostly used for people in the business world or politicians.  I was also aware that celebrities utilize Twitter as well. To me, the major difference was the communication was only through words and not their pictures. However, I was wrong.

So after I have been introduced to Twitter from one of my professors, I found it to be very different than what I expected. Twitter has an amazing network of educators. It seems as if it's own small community where they are engaging, building and supporting one another.  I can see the advantages of building a personal learning network through Twitter. Many times educators have different questions and with this network you're able to reach out and get others insight who are also in the educational ram.

I saw a peer of mine ask question about a tool we were using in my technology class, and with in minutes the company it's self was giving her feedback on how to best use the resource. This is just one of the great interactions I have experience through my short time on Twitter.  I definitely can see how this network can be utilized in the future.  I believe it's important to be able to reach out to other teachers, you can also get ideas for lessons, the latest technology and so much more from people who are clearly all across the world.  Twitter is not just great for building a networking or building your community but also for inspiration. Many times you can find people who are able to help you and they don't even know that it's what they are doing.  Twitter has definitely been a new and exciting tool that I plan to use.
