Technology in classroom #4 (Blog5)

Former assessment techniques are important for the educator in each classroom. I think that formative assessments can help you as a teacher with planning to help each student individually and as a group.  It should be used to help you form a better strategy for teaching. If you are better prepared in the class, the time you need to spend will be planned out and use wisely. Those assessments can also help the students see where they may need extra help or where they may need to put in the time to improve on their own.

Since we're able to use technology a lot more in the classrooms, the formal assessment apps seem to be great.  I can agree that teachers have so much that they need to cover in a days time, so you need the apps to be easy to use.

I think another great way that you can assess students is by using the whiteboards. I have used that technique. Each child receives a board and you can ask a question about something you may have read as a class to see if the students understood the information given. You can also use the whiteboard to review for the test and make it into a game. Students can compete against one another. Math is also a great area that the students have use whiteboards in the classroom. However, the game Kahoot is the electronic whiteboard to me.  A lot of students do not have Chrome books or Ipads at their schools to use for this game Kahoots.

I believe it's very important for our students to have the technology, but in the event that they don't have it we still need to have solutions for assessments, review and engagement in the classroom and at home.
